Cruz has faced heavy criticism for emails his campaign sent reporting that Carson was dropping out of the race before the end of the Iowa caucuses earlier this month. Carson said the false information may have cost him votes.
Cruz has since apologized, saying his campaign “updated grassroots leaders just as we would with any breaking news story” after previously denying any wrongdoing. Days later, Cruz fired his communications director.
When asked on Sunday, Cruz refused to speak about the incident except to argue that his campaign “has had the highest level of integrity from the beginning.”
Instead, Cruz accused Wallace of interrupting him and targeting him with false attacks.
Cruz also accused the Fox News host — and reporters in general — of going easy on Trump.
“You want to ask him those questions, you’ll get the chance,” Wallace retorted, referring to this week’s Fox News debate.
